Just took a trip fishing on the Mississippi River. I was going to buy a 4-day license, but Wisconsin has a deal. For a dollar more, you can get a full season license. Great deal. Now I can fish all year in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Better grease up those buddy bearings.

It's true, WI license fees are severely reduced if you haven't bought a license there in 10 years or more. They call it 'first time buyer' licenses and you can check out the whole spread on the WI DNR's website.
Non-resident Annual Fishing First Time Buyer licenses are currently $25.75
They have the same program for residents. Cost is only $5 for a resident.

If you buy the family fishing license, it's good for you, your spouse, and all 16& 17 year old children. If you buy a trout stamp (inland or Great Lakes) that trout stamp applies to all of those family members included in the family fishing license.
