I have been using mink oil and beeswax. Not sure what is best. I think mink oil conditions the leather better.

Favorite brand recommendations?

The thing that I like about obenaufs is that boots getting completely soaked don't get stiff and hard when drying out. Any other treatment I have used I would have to re-treat boots after a soaking to soften them up. With Obenaufs I just dry them out over night and wear them the next day. Treatment lasts a long time even in wet conditions. I used it on Russell Moccasin Co. and Red Wing boots throughout a caree that was tough on my footwear.

Red Wing boot oil has been on my leather boots for over 40 years. Works great.

I have used a couple over the years. I do like mink oil and I have had good luck with sno-seal. The one thing I would recommend is using a heat gun, or hair dryer, to warm the leather prior to application. The leather when heated really draws the oil in.

I've used the same for as long as I can remember.

Good advice

I haven't tried a lot of brands. However, Sno-seal (beeswax) applied to boots warmed with a hair dryer has worked well for me.

I've used Huberd's Shoe Grease for years, on every pair of boots I own. Has the consistency of axel grease and the boots suck it up.

Always bee's wax for me, SnoSeal brand. I warm the leather and keep re-warming/re-applying until it won't take any more. It's nice to have a wood stove to set them by but I have used forced air vents, campfires and even my kitchen oven. "Tell me you're a bachelor without telling me you're a bachelor."

I tried something new last year and it worked well. No need to reapply. Scan down to my post and read the last line first. My Post
