We are heading up to Crooked Lake in mid September. Any chance there are Lake Trout in that area. Any help would be appreciated.

Not in Crooked, but you will be near lakers in Quetico, not that that is any help. Basswood has them, but they stay pretty close to, or in, North Bay. An outfitter swore to me that a client caught a laker below Lower Basswood Falls, which would technically be Crooked. He thought that it had possibly went over the falls from Basswood. Just a freak if it is even true. Crooked has the depth at well over 100 ft, but must be something they do not like, maybe the tannin stained water?
