So glad you found it, well done. Looked the same as I remember it. Sounds like you had the exact same experience as we did. We also had a hard time with the trail, or lack or it. Thanks for getting back to us with your trip.

What in the heck is that red pack thing. Is that a fiberglass food pack? It looks awesome.

Thanks CatchMe and yes you nailed it. My dad and a group of guys were in a workshop that made them or something back in the early 70s or late 60s. It might have been when he was part of the forest service... I should learn more about it now that I think of it. But pretty thick fiberglass and we use the top as a cutting board, table top for cards, and as a big bucket for putting out the fire.

What an adventure! The lack of water might have done me in. But so glad you were able to make it there with him and that you had this time together. The cribbage board pic made me miss my dad. Time is definitely precious. I loved reading the tidbits of history around this location. Thanks for taking the time to write it up.

I made that same trip back in 2011, but during the winter. I reckon the snowpack made things a lot easier for us to navigate than you guys had to deal with during the green season. Glad to see things are looking the same now as they were when I was there years ago. Congrats on a great trip and your success in finding the tower site.
