We’ll done! Another great trip report.

Mya and I listened to Canoeing with Daddy on our drive to our Wood Lake trip last week. I totally forgot that both ducklings and I are in that video.

My first trip to Homer I didn’t see another person the whole time. 1 night on Pipe and 1 on Vern. I really liked staying at the sight on Vern you checked out. My 2nd trip there was with Mya and we ended up staying at the site on Homer you checked out. When we got to Vern we saw that both sites were occupied and a storm was on the way. I didn’t want to get caught paddling in it while trying to get to either Pipe or Juno so we went back to the closer sight that we knew was open. I was so glad we did as the storm hit right when we finished setting up camp.

Great report, thanks for sharing. Im planning my first Dad and Daughter trip with my 6 year old. We are headed for Ram in September. She will love the Canoing with Daddy song!

My son and I camped at the SE sight on Vern last year. It rained a couple inches while we were there. The tent pads held water. Fortunately we knew the weather was coming and decided to settup our small two person tent halfway up the trail to the latrine. It wasn't very comfortable but we stayed dry.

If you haven't seen it already? Did a trip into Ram a few years back. Perhaps you'll get some ideas from the trip report ?

Hope it ends up being a memorable trip for all the right reasons.

Another wonderful trip report! The retrospective look at Aurora's portaging history was great too.
I wish we had made it to Vern, looks like lots of fun places to explore.

Another excellent report, TB! The blown-out beaver dam area was pretty cool! I also liked the video clip with the scenic vistas. Thanks for including the campsites you visited...very helpful for my own planning.

With daughters of my own, I appreciate the glimpse back at the portaging photos. They certainly grow up quickly and, as you mentioned in your report, I will also always be grateful for the experiences and memories shared with my daughters in the wilderness. My two oldest daughters are coming home from college in a few weeks and I can hardly wait for our 8-10 days in the BW...we also start and end our trips listening to Canoeing with Daddy!

Finally, I'd like to pre-order a printed copy of your published trip reports. You are a gifted writer. I appreciate your descriptive narrative of your experiences combined with your frequent musings and insightful introspection. You should see if a publisher would partner with you so your stories could be shared by a broader audience. Your reports remind me of the journals of Dick Proenneke which I thoroughly enjoy. It's great your reports are shared here too. :)

Sounds like a great trip! I did Juno a few years ago and enjoyed it as well for a short trip. I didn't see anyone else though. Reading your reports over the years it makes my time feel like its going fast too lol. Really cool she is carrying the canoe now.

Hello, Do you know where the site on Axe is located? I was recently in the area and did not notice any campsites. Thanks!

We never made it to Axe but, it was my understanding it was in the vicinity of the NW section of the lake. Don't think it gets many visitors so, if it is there, it's probably overgrown.

Thanks for the reply. I was on Axe with my daughter in early September, the portage is very good and the fishing was decent for small eyes. We had a great trip at ep 40, thanks for the info you shared on this area.
