4 Day 1st kayak trip BWCA

Hello,

We are going to be taking our Kayak's up to the BWCA for our 1st trip ever in Sept. We will be out for four days. Please give any suggestions on where to put in at and what lakes to go on. We are going to be base camping. We prefer to have little portages/short ones as possible.

Also, has anyone ever used the tow boat service, so a person can get further in?

I know that these are generic questions, but anything will help.

Horse lake out of entry point 23 (Make sure you choose 23) is nice. There are 3 portages, but great fishing and you could do day trips to Basswood Falls and other lakes.
