I clicked the link and got this: "You do not have access to this album."

Seems to work now!
Nice pics OGG! Obviously you put-in on Beaverhouse Lake and traveled through Quetico Lake, Conk Lake.......
Per your reply to Jackfish, it does look somewhat windy.

Very wet and windy to the point that I was grounded 3 of the first 6 days.
Canoe tied in front of the tent in the one pic was to deflect the winds up and over the tent. Plan to work on a report over the next few weeks. Best day I had was when I left upper Jean and paddled/portaged about 14 miles to eastern Quetico Lake. Later, guys . . .

Have used that trick twice in all my trips. When the tent is shaking so violently you're afraid a pole will snap. Had to move it from the deep side of the peninsula I was blown to, to the shallow side sooner or later anyway. (But that's another story.) :-) Goose

Gary,
Nice photos - as usual. And there seemed to be plenty of water. The BH put-in looked 2-3 ft deeper than normal. The Lund the natives use looked almost swamped. They usually have it pulled up pretty high on the bank.

BH put-in and takeout for Q portage were higher than I've ever seen. Sunken boat at BH and 2 on the Q side. Falls were really flowing. Coming back, I parked my canoe at the old sunken log on the Q side and stepped out, dry. High water made several other landings more difficult though. Portage from parking to BH landing had water standing or running in it when I returned -- never seen that before either. --Goose

Thanks Goose.
Nice pics! Brings back good memories of the BH landing. I don't know where that old cabin is.
Lots of people had a tough time with the weather that week. Water is super high from the north to south and everywhere in between.

Tumblehome, It's at Quetico Lake campsite #93(PCD) or LAT/LON
91.850918, +48.550023. Located on the western point of the entrance to the bay from which the eastern portage to Robin Lake starts. (I was just as impressed with the humongous pine there -- I've never seen a bigger one in that part of the park.) --Goose

Great pics, Goose. That put-in spot... it's looks vaguely familiar. :)

quote 1964James: "Are the pines on the eastern most island in Beaverhouse old growth?"That's a good question. Extensive logging was done to the east and south -- the black dashed lines on old Fisher maps are the logging roads or trails -- maybe Beaverhouse islands escaped? --Goose

The photos were beautiful and lots of fun to go through. I agree about photo #42, however. Not a sight for the faint of heart. I'm headed up there for the first time in August and I really appreciate seeing it through your eyes. My goal this year is to set a tarp up and have it look like yours.
Thanks!
Dave
Thanks!

Dave, If rain is coming soon, I'm probably NOT going to get a "good" tarp set up quickly. I often take a couple of hours doing other stuff while eyeballing potential tarp options, then pick "the best" one. Thanks for the kind words though. --Goose
