quote Spartan2: "I am curious as to why you want a cabin on LLC if you want to introduce your wife and kids to the BWCA. It would seem to me that a BWCA experience might be easier if you would rent a cabin on a smaller, quieter lake that is on a BWCA entry point lake, where you were just a short paddle from an easy BWCA day trip or two.

Clearwater comes to mind quickly (trip to Caribou and Pine with Johnson Falls as an "attraction" as well as climbing the palisade on Clearwater for that spectacular view), or Poplar (stay at Rockwood or Trail Center or Poplar Creek Little Ollie Cabin), or Kawishiwi Lodge on Lake One. Great day trips from any of these.

There are many others, these are just the ones that came into my thoughts quickly, as they have easy access to the BWCA and I know they are in quiet locations without a lot of motor traffic.

Nothing against LLC. Just throwing out another idea. After more than 40 years of canoe-tripping, we now stay in a cabin for a week every summer, so I know how much fun that can be."

Good advice! I totally agree with the smaller non-motor lake options you have given!

You do realize any cabin on LLC is on the Canadian side?

Zups is where I stay, top notch resort. Have heard good things about about Campbell's also.

I want to introduce my wife and kids to the boundary waters. I go every year but the rest of the family are not hard-core campers like me. What cabin options would you suggest in Lac La Croix? I've visited a couple of websites but I'm not seeing pricing for cabin rentals posted online. Any help or suggestions appreciated.
