04/08/2018 09:27PM My group and I have done this trip and had a blast. Caught lakers, smallies, walleye and pike on Knife. It was fun, and the lake is large enough that crowds don't seem an issue. I'd do it again, but my group wants to do some walleye jigging at a different entry. We will be out Memorial Day as well....but I"m worried about ice out!! |

04/06/2018 06:14PM Beware of the scout troops all up and down ensign all summer long. take the tow and wave to them and smile as you fly by especially in rain and wind conditions haha |

04/02/2018 01:19PM That area doesn’t get full until the middle of June. You shouldn’t have a problem. Take the tow from LaTourells to beat any people. If you stay at LaTourells and get the first tow out at 6:00 am you will be fine. |

04/02/2018 01:15PM If you get there early enough I don't think you will have much of a problem. Better yet, get a tow from LaTourell's and get ahead of most the "crowd". There are lots of good campsites on Ensign and if you get there early enough it shouldn't be a problem. You may have to bring an ice chisel if this weather doesn't break. |

04/02/2018 12:56PM In my opinion if weather is tolerable it will be way to crowded for for my liking. Just a busy area most of the season. I’m the kind of a tripper that tries to stay away from the busier entry points , so my idea of crowded may be different then other members of this community. |

04/02/2018 12:22PM Going out this year on Memorial Day weekend, Thursday to be specific. Would've like to go Wednesday to have more flexibility in campsite choices but unfortunately schedules wouldn't allow it. Does anyone think it's going to be difficult to find a spot in Ensign? Got a set of newbies and we don't plan on burning them out right away so we're not going too far. But I noticed the permits for Thursday and Friday sold out almost instantly. I'm just concerned that we will get ourselves in a situation that where we are looking too hard for a campsite. I've never been towards Ensign before and I've heard there can be a bit of traffic. |
