The beach put-in. Very short carry up to the parking lot from there. (Sorry if the picture is a little blurred.) --Goose

Yes, the parking lot at French Lake is at the far end of the campground. It has the added security of regular patrols by the Park Rangers. btw, the CG is very nice w/ hot showers. We use it the nite before we enter, as it puts us right at the entry point early in the morning.

20 yard carry down to the water. There were about 5 cars in the parking lot and it can hold maybe 30.
The Stanton Bay entry on Pickerel is one spot where non-residents can't park.....but it's more of an exception than a rule."

Stanton Bay is the only entry where non-residents can't park. All other entries are fine.

Non-residents can use Stanton Bay as long as they are using services from a Canadian outfitter.

Hi all,

I'm not a stranger to the BWCA messageboard, just finally got around to making my own account.

I'm heading with my dad to the Northern section of Quetico for the first time (we typically go to the BWCA, or enter Quetico through one of the southern entrances). I've been doing some reading, and it looks like parking overnight for non-residents can be tricky?

We will be entering through Pickerel Lake (entry #12). Are there specific parking lots or areas where non-residents can park? Or does it even make a difference?

Thanks!
