Stopped to Fish Boot for 3 total days on our last trip after July 4th.

First trip ever to the BWCA and we stayed here for 2 nights, and fished it for a night on our way back to Snowbank from Ensign.

This lake didn't produce us any walleyes, although I feel if I had sonar I may have been able to locate them off of the deeper shelf.

Shallow side of the lake only had small bass, but the narrows between the lakes right off of the Rock slide produced insane fish. Largemouth, Smallmouth, and a 40 1/4" northern pike, mostly all on Jigs and leeches.

Yellow and Orange were Hot colors, anything would Bite and it was as soon as the bait hit the water. Wacky Rigs worked pitching at rocky shorelines as bass sit right up against the rock faces.

Lake is beautiful and doesn't get fished much as people are mostly passing through it to get elsewhere, definitely a good lake to start out like we did.

Here's Part 1 of our trip, this is entirely on Boot lake, Part 2 has more of Ensign and Boot Lake mixed. - https://youtu.be/q5Qa9xsJRJc

Nice video of your first outing! Glad you had a good time.

You'll always remember your first trip and "how far away" you felt... awesome.

Jig and a leech is one of the best bait combos you can fish with. Or just leave it hang over the side, as you discovered. Eventually you'll find walleyes.

Good job wearing your life vests while fishing. This is a good habit to develop.

Save some weight and leave the radio at home. Bet you found the canoe seats comfortable. I worried looking at your tent fly with what looked to be not too much coverage.

Good Job!
