Does anyone have info on these lakes? Putting in at Stanton Bay and going down Rawn Narrows. Maps, fishing spots, camping spots, etc.

Stayed at the island site on Rawn some years ago and day tripped into Buckingham.
Buckingham is beautiful and in retrospect wished I had stayed there so I could have explored more. Fishing was good in both lakes. I didn't try anything in Art.

My crew stayed at the Rawn Lake campsite at the south end of the narrows about 6 years ago and also day tripped into Art and Buckingham. Pretty area, modest fishing.
The year before we went east in the bay at the north end of the narrows and went to the Howard Lakes. Untraveled. I reported it here.

I did a 14 day North to South to North trip. Fishing was very good throughout my trip though even though that wasn’t really our focus. Mainly fished from shore in camp. The one time I trolled on Agnes I caught a lake trout in less than a minute. Had to cut it out of the rolled up line to get it out of the net. Couldn’t release it because of all of that so that concluded my trolling since we needed to cover some miles that day.

Overall though I’d say fishing in the Quetico was just very very good. Favorite lure from shore was little Cleo 2/5 in 1/2 Nickel 1/2 blue that seemed to get the most hits. Number 4 and 5 Mepps. Caught everything on this including Walleye.

Was tougher not having fish especially jumping bass not come off with the barbless but that is something I do on all canoe trips. I head in on an 8 day BWCA trip this Saturday and took the barbs off the few lures I bought to replace lost lures from the Quetico trip even though it’s not required.

I've camped on Rawn two times and day tripped thru Art to Buckingham. Caught only a few SMB each trip. Buckingham is a beautiful, out of the way lake though, and no one else was around, either time. Rawn was a disappointment fishingwise also, but the island campsite was great. --Goose

It's easy

My wife and I spent four nights on Rawn earlier this month. We camped at the island site just as you enter the lake. It was fine, but the site on a point in the eastern end of the main part of the lake looked like a better spot to us when we were circumnavigating the lake. We'll probably camp there when we return even though it makes day trips to Buckingham a little longer.

We day-tripped to Buckingham once. As noted, it's a beautiful lake. The portages to get there were easy. We caught walleyes in the shallow rocks around the small island right when you enter Buckingham. We also caught them just trolling the shore out in the bigger part of the lake.

We needed to catch a fish or two every day for dinner and we ate walleye every evening. We were mainly interested in exploring the shoreline so we just dragged wally divers as we paddled along the shore. In other words, we weren't fishing very hard and we caught plenty of fish (Northern, SMB, and Walleye).

We didn't catch anything in the narrows. It was shallow and had no structure. However, just as we exited the narrows into Rawn (there's a pinch-point created by a tiny island), we caught a nice walleye as the lure dropped over the large boulder you can see just below the surface.

We were there a couple weeks ago. Stayed at the middle island site, entered
from the westerly side. Kitchen not the greatest but serviceable. Nice big open site in stand of red pines, 180 views. Fishing was pretty good from the shore of the site, also there is a stream flowing into Rawn from Art - also good fishing . there. We trolled the Rawn shoreline and ate fish most every night - Wally, smb, and Nortons. Very quiet dead end lake.

I'm going to be there at the same time for 5 nights, but solo. I have spent a lot of time on both lakes, but mostly Buckingham. It is my go to place on the planet for writing in solitude. If you are there, it could be the first time I have ever seen anyone there in 6 trips.

Fishing is good, but not for size. Questions, PM me.

A couple of those marked sites are only good to squeeze one tent in, otherwise the sites are nice. The red site on the peninsula on Rawn is the best of all of them. Also, Rawn has the best Walleye fishing.
