An $800 clue from today's episode of "Jeopardy!" --

"Paddle 1,200 miles of routes named for this type of boat in Minnesota's Boundary Waters Wilderness"

Not one of the contestants replied "What is a canoe?", including Mia from...MINNESOTA! Had she got this question right, she would have had enough to win the game!

Saw that today. It's like not knowing Disney Land is in Anaheim.

In a small bit of defense for the contestants, it is a fairly oddly worded question.

"routes named for this type of boat"

I guess they are indeed "canoe routes"...but even as a frequent visitor, I had to read it a couple times before I realized what it was asking.

And where did they pull the 1,200 miles number?

They probably took that number from the Superior National Forest BWCAW Page .

Oh, remember, Treehorn--on Jeopardy!, it's not a question. It's an answer! :) :)

Agreed, I had to reread the question or “answer “ and still don’t think it makes much sense. Key word of boat is the only thing that would lead me to answer “canoe “ in the context of talking about the BWCA.

But if you lived in California you probably would.
