Has anyone here tried the Grey Duck canoes?

As my kids get a little older, I will need a second Canoe and I’m wanting it to be a nice Kevlar canoe. These have caught my eye, and was curious if anyone’s tried them.

There was some discussion about them on the forum. If you type "grey duck canoe"in the "search bar" you'll find some links to those to add with any responses you get.

I haven’t paddled them, but the look extremely well made. The cloth looked clean, no stray fibers, etc.

I do have one of their paddle boards, and it’s great.

I wouldn’t hesitate to give a canoe a try. They’re
also really nice guys manufacturing locally in the Twin Cities.

I tried to look for more information on Grey Duck Canoes on this website and I was having problems finding something probably didn’t search hard enough.

I’m looking at their website and others they seem like extremely well-made canoes. I just feel like I’m going to spend money for a good Kevlar canoe. I want a good one.

Bwca.com group had a tour of their Roseville factory a few months back. It was great to see what they are doing and what plans they have. Creative thinkers. I think Hungry Jack Lodge rents out the canoes (and maybe some other outfitters) so you could try one. Midwest Mountaineering used to bring them to their paddle events on Nokomis so I tried one. I liked it. I'm waiting to see what they develop as a solo canoe...one of their projects. Or just contact Grey Duck and see if they are doing any on the water events next summer.

Thanks for the info. I’ll reach out and see what they have planned.

Stone Harbor in Grand Marais always has one on display in the store. They do look nice.

We have tried them out at Piragis Northwoods Company. Call and ask for Tyler or Tom and we can tell you about the Grey Duck canoes.
