Can anyone offer any suggestions for trolling for trout with snap weights. We will be going into Quetico the last week in May. Thanks to all.

I'd suggest trolling without much weight at all in May. Lake trout will be shallow. Troll shorelines and moving water with bait of your choice... flashy spoons, rapalas, or whatever. Choice of weight type is not critical. Use keel sinkers, a few split-shot, or snap weights.

Agreed. Even I can catch LT in May in the Q. No weights added, mostly cranks.

You won't need any weights in May just use a deep diver Cisco colored Crankbait. Otherwise I use a 3 way swivel, and weight as needed.
