I have read mixed things on the internets. Some say Perent Lake doesn't have smallies and some say they had a good time catching smallies. Which is it? Has anyone personally caught smallies in Perent Lake? (I am referring to PERENT Lake at the Hog Lake entry point -- not PARENT Lake which is somewhere else in the BWCA).

i was surprised to see in the 3 surveys the DNR has done since 1990 , they did NOT net 1 smally , looks like it's over ran with small walleyes. DNR Perent lake

Parent lake by Snowbank has Smallies. As far as I know Isabella Lake to Parent Lake and Hog creek does not have Smallies. It never use to but the whole BWCA they have spread like weeds.

I think that people are getting confused by Perent Lake and Parent Lake and are posting incorrect fishing reports under the wrong lake name.

I went down hog creek and stayed a few days fishing on Perent last May, 0 smallies caught

I went into Perent via Hog Creek in Sept, 2023. We caught walleye, pike, and rock bass. No smallmouth caught.

Spent 4 days on Perent, not one smallmouth. All walleyes and a few northerns mixed in

All the years I've fished Isabella, Parent, Silver Island, timber, frear, whitefish etc etc no rough fish smallmouth. Lots of 13-19 inch walleyes with 20-26 inchers mixed in.
