Anyone know of some waterfalls that are reachable from Ely on a daytrip? I've been to Devils Cascade and those along the LIS portage on the way up to DC and a falls along the long portage on the North Kawishiwi. Any others people care to list?

I've never been there, but I think I read about one on LIS South in a trip report. I don't know if it'd be doable as a day trip, but you might look into it.

Not exactly sure of your criteria.... How far from Ely???

A non BWCAW waterfall just outside of Ely off the Fernberg road just before you reach the Fall lake campground. Kawishiwi falls


Sioux falls are on the LIS south. Reachable on a day trip.

The Moose river north has some interesting spots just north of Nina Moose that are reachable on a day trip.

I guess the only criteria is reachable from Ely on a daytrip. Moose and LIS south are both great ideas. Been to Kawishiwi falls numerous times, love that one.

Not on the Ely side.... but, this one is just off the portage into Crocodile Lake.
