Entry Point 27 - Snowbank Lake

Snowbank Lake entry point allows overnight paddle or motor (25 HP max). This entry point is supported by Kawishiwi Ranger Station near the city of Ely, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 24 miles. Access is a boat landing or canoe launch at Snowbank Lake. Many trip options for paddlers. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

Great report.


How were the crowds and what was the campsite availability in the Lake One and Two area? I am heading up there with my family as well in two weeks and am concerned about this.

Sounds like a fun little trip. This is the way I would like to introduce my kids to the BWCA. This is a great entry point for this. Thanks for sharing.
