06/27/2018 03:22PM It can change overnight. Just call one of the 4 ranger stations in Cook for west end, ely for central, tofte for east side and grand marais for upper east side. They are typically open from 8-430. And they also post on their website: https://www.fs.usda.gov/superior/ |

06/27/2018 07:46AM To get an idea of how dry it might be at any particular time, I look at this MNDNR page. By the way there is a good chance of rain every day between now and June 30th. |

06/26/2018 09:27PM This retired firefighter was just up there last week. There will not be any campfire restrictions for 2 weeks at least, it was pretty wet when I was paddling. There is a small chance that the "extreme" arrowhead area around Grand Portage could be in some sort of fire restrictions soon after the July 4th weekend, but I doubt it. |

06/26/2018 09:22PM You can check with the USFS, but it can change overnight. You should have a backup plan for cooking besides fire. |

06/26/2018 08:37PM Hi- We will be heading in on June 30th and are starting to menu plan. Anyone know if there is currently a fire ban or not? I can't seem to find reliable info online ... much is from previous years... one string in the gear section of this site from May but nothing more recent ... Thanks in advance for the info. |
