Another hint. The original photo doesn't show the entire lake. Also, one passes by this historical site on one route into this lake.

Sorry, I don't have another photo of the lake. I haven't actually paddled this one yet if that's a hint.... there are a few permit options for this place.

Time for someone else's turn. Um....

There were two scouts, Chad and his friend Jack who were looking to get their merrit badge for gowan where no scouts had gone before. They thought about going to norway, but unlike the girl scouts, there was no cookie money to sponsor them, not even bootleg cookies. As they were pining for where they might journey to, they decided on somewhere near the sunset glow.

egknuti has it! The first photo is from the north bay of Trout. The boardwalk photo is from the Norway Trail which passes by the old Norway Fire Tower site.
