Going to Horse in a month. Been on this route at least a dozen times but have never seen the Ranger Cabin. I understand its just after you port age Based wood but where exactly am I looking? Any particular landmark other than the falls? Tx
Money can buy a pretty good dog but it can't buy the wag of her tail.

Once you portage around Lower Basswood Falls, just paddle across towards the campsite you can see from the landing. And then, paddle into the small SW oriented bay just past the campsite (#2055 you could also walk to it from this camp)It can be easily viewed from the water but, it is amazing how well concealed it is from the hurried traffic that steadily passes by.
Hope you have a great trip!

In my database, #2055 is on Cherokee Lake. Perhaps you're referring to #1548?

Looks like you made a comment about it on the maps page here. Thanks. We are headed through there again this August and I'll be sure we stop for a look. Entered into my database at N48° 06.763' W91° 42.860'
