Is your photo Bridal Falls?"

Yes, it is Bridal Falls in that photo.

This is the falls along Stairway Portage:

Also a view of Rose Lake from the Border Route Trail just east of Stairway Portage:

It's only one easy 80 rod portage into Duncan Lake to get to Stairway Portage.

Wonder where the fall prescribed Duncan lake burn is exactly?

Cleawarter is a good choice"

shhhh ... all those people who go to the Ely area could be reading this

I'm really hoping that Mr.MN can come with us on our MEA trip this year, but on the off chance that he can't I want to take MiniMN back to Moose Madness etc, and some adventuring. (and even if he can... - then we'll take the canoe)

Not sure if you remember, last year I took her to Ely and we checked out all of the various museums/attractions,and even paddled around Lake One in the Kayak.

We then woke up around 5am on Saturday and headed to Grand Marais for Moose Maddness which was a total hit with her. She is DYING to go back again. My thoughts are to either get "real" lodging, or camp nearby...

I'd like to go paddling again, but wondering if we could "haul" the kayak to Duncan to see the Rose Portage, or - what would you suggest for a day trip? My kayak has NO yoke, but I have technically portaged it overhead.
