I am planning my first solo right over Fishing opener. I am only planning three nights. I want to put in on the Thursday may 12th and come out on sunday the 15th. I am doing a tandem trip starting Tuesday the 17th to Saturday the 28th, so I figured while I'm using the majority of my vacation why not use it all.

My question is: where do you think I should go considering my "criteria"

-Would like to move every day
-renting a canoe (and yes I want to rent a Magic)
- Confident with my paddling but not looking to set any distance records would like to set up camp early afternoon.
- Fishing would be nice but not a high priority since thats what my tandem is focusing on. If I did, probably just bass and northerns.
- Round trip- would like to exit and enter in the same location
- Gonna try to avoid massive waters since I'm not allowing much for a buffer day.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated! I'm also going to post in trip planning.

The water is still fairly cold on the fishing opener. In my opinion, the fishing opener in the BW is meant for laker fishing.

I agree with Mr Barley. It you are going in that early, make lakers your target.

Yeah lakers is what I'm fishing for on my tandem trip. On my solo I would merely fish just to pass some time. Not a huge requirement.

Entry Point 50. Cross Bay, is a nice area and small water. You can go down to Long Island Lake and from there explore Frost and Cherokee Lakes. More of an out and back trip instead of a circle. The island camp site on he west side of Long island is very nice.
