I was wondering how many people place their tents in a waterproof sack. I normally just keep mine in the bag the tent came with. I've traveled quite a bit in the rain and never had any problems with water inside the tent when I went to set it up.

Usually just stuff the tent in the sack it came with. Haven't felt the need to do otherwise yet.

Just about everything else goes into a waterproof bag. No need for the tent.

i did when i first got started.my timberline would not fit under the pack flap so i put it into a WP bag and stowed it as far into the bow as i could get it.on the carry it went on top of the pack.i guess i put it that bag so it would float if i swamped.next tent was smaller and went under the flap in a over sized bag so i could mush it down and not have that big roll on top.the Atko i use now with a bigger Duluth Pack go's under the flap in the bag it came in.just as a side note, one of the things that damaged my old pack was that i had to really pull down on the straps to hold the flap down on the tent.the strain was hard on the attachments and i had to have straps replaced.with a pack flap that's a bit over sized i can close up the pack tight without having to pull the straps as tight as possible.

I've never considered putting the tent in a water proof bag. It stays in its original bag.

I use the orginal stuff sack or somtimes a litte larger one with all my tents. That said I did own a Eureka tent from Canada that came with a waterproof roletop stuff sack. Not sure of the reasoning for this. I know Eureka of Canada does make some different models than we have down here in the States, but why they feel they need a waterproof stuff sack is beyond me.

I use the stuff sack that came with the tent and put the tent inside the liner of my Duluth Pack #4 or Northwoods pack with other gear. If the rainfly were still soaked while breaking camp, I might leave that outside the liner.

When I use a tent instead of a lean/tarp, I pack the tent parts in separate bags, tent, fly, poles, and stakes/cordage. I use GG Air Bags not for waterproofing, but they weigh almost nothing. The smaller bags pack better for me.
