We visited but did not stay. Easy landing, plenty of space in and around the main area. Seemed solid for larger groups and for hammocks. The downsides were that we found it dark, mostly because nothing really opens up to the lake.

Big open campsite with big rock by kitchen area. Very good views. Almost gave it a 5 Star.

We stayed here 2 nights. Spots for 3-4 tents. Nice fire area with a huge rock nearby. We had plenty for room for our group of six. Good Protection from the wind. Surrounded by lots of Pine. More detail of the site can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/9kicnlyhRJ0 This begins at Sawbill and documents our trip to Cherokee. We enter the lake at around the 26 minute mark and there is a tour of camp.

Not a bad campsite was one of the first ones we found open all of the other ones were full, smaller area for tents but we were able to get them all in, huge rock right by the fire for the camp kitchen.

Camp Notes:
Large rock sitting area facing south with a small gravel landing just off the east side. Decent seating around firegrate with an awesome "sacrifice" rock for use as kitchen. No good bear tree, used a stick to push rope up birch. The latrine trail is reason enough to skip this site. Over a hundred paces up the hill. Four or more tent pads. We hung two hammocks.

Camp Notes:
This was the first open spot on our way up from Sawbill, so we grabbed it and glad we did. Nice site. Roomy. There is a small landing on the north side of the island as well. The only downside was NO bear pack hanging trees; all trees with branches are too small, the sturdier trees have all their branches stripped. We ended up canoeing our packs to a small rock outcrop/island about 50 yds offshore and taking our chances -- worked OK.

Didn't find a sandy beach here but there was plentiful space for tents near campfire grate and off into the woods. Nice food pack hanging tree. Picture is looking west from this site after short walk through the woods.
