Camp Notes:
Stayed here on our last night before exiting on Snowbank. Found this to be a great site with lots of room. It has one tent pad of actual grass located back in the woods a little way. I think this was the best tent pad I have seen in the Boundary Waters. There was a garter snake that seemed to like this camp as well though. We even removed him from camp and he kept coming back. Fishing was good in the shallows and lilies around camp. Caught both small mouth and large mouth on top lures and spinners. We spent the night in hammocks looking at the stars on a clear night.

Camp Notes:
Spent an afternoon and overnight here before our exit back to Snowbank the next day. Site is very convenient to the portage to Snowbank/Parent. It was almost the last site available on Disappointment at 2 PM on sunny Friday 8/23/19 EXCEPT for the site on the narrows, which has an extremely steep rock face climb. We had our elderly beagle with us, so we needed something easier for him. Small compact kitchen area which worked well for 2 people. Shoreline very easy for our dog to access the water he needed to drink. I took a short swim, which was easy to do from shore. Campsite faces a slightly marshy bay, but we appreciated the blooming waterlilies and the evening turtles. We did not have many insects bothering us at the site. The tent pad we chose was directly on the path to the latrine, which was visible from the tent but not a problem. The rating for this site is very low on Paddle Planner, which puzzles me because we loved the site and felt lucky to get it on a busy day on Disappointment!

Small but comfortable campsite. Good fishing across lake. Lots of posts in 2010 about bears on Disappointment. Stayed a full week here as base camp, saw no bears.

This is a good campsite. Rather small but could support two small tents. Not very many good trees to support hanging bags. Had bear in camp first night but ran him off and never saw him again. Also saw snakes two different days but would stay here again regardless.
