The view from this site is spectacular. The site is elevated and overlooks the length of the lake from the west end. The site is level with a decent fire pit. There are several grassy tent pads that are level and free of rocks. There are also several convenient places to hang hammocks. The latrine is not visible from camp, and the trail to it was easy to walk. Nice flat rocks to set your things on to dry. Bugs were present, but not bad. The landing site was decent and had room to pull three canoes up on shore. The path from the landing up to the camp was a bit steep and narrow, but the site and the view made the climb worth it. Didn't catch any fish from shore, but didn't fish it much either.

The campsite was well used by the group before us…stale beer and cigars. We only stayed a night because of the smell BUT that will go away. We had 2 -two-person tents and were maxed out. The landing is small and the hike up is steep. Nice view off the fire. We spotted a moose in the bay around the corner. The hiking path up Disappointment Mountain can be reached off the back of the site.

One of my all time favorite sites in the BWCA. An open, elevated campsite with a commanding view of a gorgeous lake. The canoe landing isn't the best and the hike up from the landing is a bit on the steep side but the view (especially on a sunny day) is definitely worth it. Can't speak to the fishing. Check out the interesting trails behind the site as well.

We had 9 people in 4 tents, but it was very tight (not recommended). I would not plan on more than 3 tents here. Like everyone else says, it is a beautiful site I would give it 5 stars, but I like to fish and there does not seem to be much for fish in this lake. It used to be stocked with Trout, but has not been stocked in many many years (don't know why). It is a deep lake as I measured 70+ feet just 20-30 yards out from this site. If you are not into fishing, this site is great!

This is my favorite campsite hands down! The landing is easy to get in and out of the water. The hike up to the camp gets old after a bit but the view is well worth it. This lake is very quiet as there is only one other campsite on this lake.

A really beautiful site. This is one of my favorite lakes in the BWCA because it is so clear. I don't know what is going on with the fish in it though. Never caught much of anything in it, though I saw many small (stocked?) bass near shore. Ahsub used to be a designated trout lake, but I'm not a trout guy...

This site is near the west end portage to Dissapointment Lake. Very high site overlooking the lake. Great view of lake and surrounding hills. Only drawback is the carry to the site.

Very nice campsite. High elevation with a beautiful southward view of Ahsub lake. Best site on this lake.
