03/19/2018 12:38PM Canoe Canada is good and Canadian Quetico Outfitters is also good. Both can get you down to Stanton, which is where I always put in from. When are you going? |

03/18/2018 09:32PM Very sad to hear that John had passed. We used his service's all time, he treated us great. I loved listening to his stories of fishing and hunting, he will be missed. |

03/18/2018 02:59PMwalter: "Does anyone have a recommendation for an outfitter to get the permit and provide a shuttle for a Stanton bay entry? In the past we have used Morris camp, who was great, and entered as French lake. Not sure if they are still providing services as I heard John (Moose) unfortunately passed away this past fall." Used Morris Camp for almost 40 years. Luckily, I had the chance to see him a week before he passed. I spoke with Moose's step-daughter after I received the sad news. She informed me that they will not be re-opening :-( |

03/17/2018 08:21PM The B-Chain is great. Honestly, it's hard to wrong on ANY of the lakes within a daytrip's paddle of Pickerel. But if the wind is manageable, just stay on the big lake. |

03/17/2018 12:38PM There is like three entry points to Pickeral-your preferred choice? |

03/17/2018 12:36AM Didn't fish much on Pickerel, but it's a beautiful lake. Campsite 524 is an awesome site. There are four sites on the island, but we had it all to ourselves. You can hook into Batchewaung without any portage if your trying to avoid those...you can paddle most of a day without portaging. I've done Bisk-Beg-Bud-Fern, that's a nice little area without too much portaging. |

03/16/2018 09:31PM If you base camp at the west end which is probably your best spot for wind you can go down to Buckingham for smallies and lake trout fish in Art. Also Dore is a beautiful water lake. |

03/16/2018 06:47PM Depending where on Pickerel you'll be basecamping, a nice change of pace off the big water is the B-chain (Bisk - Beg - Bud). Doubt you'll hook into any LT (Pickerel is good for those), but everything else is in the Bs. AadamX |

03/12/2018 09:02AM One of my favorite lakes though I have several. Good to great fishing, excellent and many campsites, lots of nooks to explore. You can but do not need to go to other lakes. Spend a week on Pic. You will love it. |

03/11/2018 06:18PM Looking at doing a basecamp on pickerel and have heard that it has great smallmouth fishing. Has anyone on here fished it and are there other smaller lakes near by with good bass or lake trout fishing? |
