10/23/2018 03:22PM That's my favorite time to go... more specifically early September, preferably after Labor Day. You will have a great time. |

10/21/2018 07:52PM Have you thought about going to Quetico? Also, have you joined the Solo Tripping forum on here? |

10/21/2018 09:53AM Going in at Lake One and spend time on Insula. Then you could daytrip from there or complete a counter clockwise loop going through Alice, Thomas, Ima, to Snowbank or - Just backtrack the way you came from Insula. I did this loop in 2009 going clockwise from Snowbank. Smittys resort helped me shuttle my truck to the Lake One parking lot and we spent our first night in their motel at the resort. Here's a trip report if interested. Snowbank to Lake One Loop report |

10/15/2018 12:39PM Hello all, I did my first trip to the BWCA this year in June (solo as well) and am already looking forward to planning for next year's trip! This year I did EP 16 to LLC and back, and enjoyed every minute of it. Next year, it looks like my June and July will be busy, so I'm thinking a possible end of August/beginning of September trip. I'd like to focus on fishing, with a mix of basecamping 2-3 days and 2-3 days of travel, with moderate portages at this time, because I am planning on another solo unless I can convince a couple friends to join. I am open to a new lake/EP, so any suggestions on lakes or EP's would be appreciated for an early fall trip. Thanks! |
