02/28/2019 07:56PM You'll want to portage your canoe from the short cutty parking lot into Moss and across into Duncan. Pretty easy-peasy. |

02/22/2019 06:48PMPinetree: "If I am correct portage wheels would be illegal once you hit the BWCA line. Otherwise it is a pretty wide portage." I'd say shortly after you hit the boundary sign, the portage wheels would be uselss anyway- that's when the elevation change happens. |

02/22/2019 04:30PM Maybe... last 50-100 yards will be tricky in and out (from what I recall) I wouldn't do it by myself. Not huge elevation difference for a kevlar canoe... but a 14' boat I'm not so certain. Also- I've only gone form the parking spot/ trail head to Moss... which is on the north side of the road. I'm not sure where the trail is from Hungry Jack to the road (if there is one).. Anyone correct me if my memory isn't serving me well |

02/22/2019 03:57PM Anyone care to comment on the width and terrain of this short portage? I know it's not actually in the BWCA but assume there are folks here who have used this at some point. I'm wondering if I can squeeze a 14-foot boat in there with portage wheels? Boat is approx 48 inches wide plus the wheels. Thanks! |
