I'm getting ready to do this trip in about 10 days. My son and I are wanting to get to sleep on the first night and oyster the second. From there we're heading to iron, crooked, lbw falls and making a loop back oyster and then back out to the entry point.

We've prepared for months, changing gear, tweaking meals, just to make sure that we can single portage everything.

Pretty much did the same trip soloing with a dog and double portaging.
I did it in 5 nites with a 2 nite layover on Finger, in June. didn't see anyone for 2.5 days on the trip.

This is a great route/loop. Should be no problem in time allowed.

There's a rock slide on the west side of Little Shell. It's bass crazy.

With all the good info from this group I can plan accordingly. Plan to fish quite a bit during this trip. Thank you all for all your info it really makes planning much easier and I feel more confident.

You’re not biting off to much at all. I did this exact loop solo two years ago. I’ll attach my video of it. My only regret is that I didn’t spend a night on Hustler, that lake was so pretty. Finger and Fat were my two favorite lakes on the loop. Although all of the others are awesome too. I didn’t see anyone for two and a half days, from Little Loon on my entry day to Oyster. That was in the middle of July. I thought maybe the apocalypse had occurred. Lol. Lollipop Loop -EP 14

Ive done the same route solo double portaging, Wednesday put in, out Saturday, i did the 2 big portages on friday, 300 rds or close to it and alot of miles paddling. Adding 2 days would have been perfect, Wednesday - Monday.

Loon was brutal for me, i had to hit the island for cover from the wind, stayed in little loon beach site night one.

That is a nice route, you will enjoy it. Only you know your traveling style so hard to say if it's a doable route for your time frame.

This is probably top three on my list of favorite routes. Although you have plenty of time to finish the loop in the time listed, it would be great to add 1-2 days to this route whether solo or tandem with your son. You'll be able to make it well past slim on day 1, but that will be decided between the two of you.

Will you guys be fishing? Ahhh....catching eater sized LT on Fat, precious Waldos on Finger, the gorgeous paddle to Oyster to explore its depths for a trophy, and the chance to catch a tow by monster pike in Hustler. You just can't go wrong with that route...enjoy!

Looking for your advice on this route. My 19 year old son and me, maybe a solo if plans change. September 14- 20, EP 14, Upper/Lower Pauness, Loon/Little Loon, Slim, Fat, Section Pond (I think) Little Bear Track, Bear Track, Thumb, Finger, Pocket, Pocket creek to Ge-Be-on-Equat, Green, Rock, Oyster, Hustler, Ruby,Lynx, Little Shell, Shell, Lower/Upper Pauness EP14.

Slim 1st night, 2nd-3rd Finger, 4th? 5th Ruby,6th out. Am I biting off too much? If I solo, I plan to add 1-2 days to trip.
