Well I would contact the seller thru Craigslist if you want one of the actual sled, otherwise go to the Black River Sled web page.

I Purchased a black river sled a while back and have always just used a tarp to secure my gear. I am looking at getting a tank for the sled but I think I may go with the one made by Lure of the North. Has anyone used one of these? they look a bit heavier but they also look like they have more room.

Soledad - sled making got put on hold this year. Thanks for offer.

Ok, I picked up my blackriver sled over the new year and was able to take it to Disappointment Lake. I LOVE THE SLED! Chris was a joy to work with, he got my sled done in a short period of time. Customer service was awesome: He returned all my calls right away. The sled pulled wonderfully. The tank was very nice for keeping my gear together AND it rolls up very nicely to fit into my Jeep:) If anyone has any questions about the sled, send me an e-mail: georgethaler@hotmail.com.

Ed' got some great information on his site about building your own pulk.
He also sells a lot of the parts, by far the best source for making a pulk. Ski Pulk

Waldo,

Let me know if you are interested in splitting up the cost of a sheet. I wouldn't mind building a sled and I know another guy who maybe interested.

Thanks guys.

Franz has it, it is Nott CO. I purchased the UHMWPE not the HDPE, better stuff IMO. I assume they also carry the HDPE.

Waldo,

You can try the Nott company out of Arden Hills they carry it # 651 415-3400

CedarBoy - would you please let me know your twin cities supplier of HDPE?
Cedarboy 12/30/2008 11:08PM
George
I found a local supplier(Twin Cities) for UHMWPE and split the cost 3 ways with 2 other guys on the board then put one together modeled after MYCCR board, wintercamping board and BlackRiver sleds. Used black walnut for cross ribs and got the SS screws at Lowes and rope at REI. Worked out great. UHMWPE is SLICK stuff, slicker than HDPE and bends much better in cold. I think I have about $85 in it. 15in by 10foot, tappered the last 4 ft down to 13in for turning. Have onlty pulled the kids so far(120lbs total) that was really nice and slick. Cant wait to get it out this year.

Black River sells a kit for a good price, would be a fun weekend project.

Awesome. I have been using an ice fishing sled for the past 4-5 years. It tends to "plow" through the snow instead of riding on top of it. I am hoping this new sled will help me go a little further or, at least, make pulling the gear a little easier:-)

George,

I've have and use the SnowWalker model with the eight foot tank, have used it for the past two years and six trips it works great! I'll be taking it up after New Years Day for a five night trip. Not sure were exactly I'll put in, but I will be doing a entry off the Echo Trail.

I am picking up my blackriver toboggan next week (Christmas gift to self). Has anyone here ever used one? Any reviews? How about the addition of the "tank" they sell? I know Cedarboy was contemplating getting one last year.

Thanks!
