Thanks for the info. Heading in Tuesday. How was the fish bite? Looking at Agnes and Boulder Bay. "

Came out that way on 8/2. Mosquitoes at dusk pretty bad but otherwise nothing.

Fishing was fantastic in Boulder Bay, LLC and up into Never Fail Bay.
We trolled the wind blown edges as much as possible in 12-17 feet of water with shad raps and hot n tots and smashed the walleye.

Dad caught a 37" Northern in Boulder Bay. Not sure why he was in such shallow water (7') but he was.

I caught a 14" crappie on Agnes but we only fished Agnes for one hour at dusk on our way out.

Richwon4: "What's the recent word on bugs? Going in Entry 16 in a few days headed through Boulder Bay, Iron, then..."
Expect swarming mosquitoes at dusk with a chance of deer flies on portages.

We went to Iron and back to Agnes for a couple nights. I think it was hot for BW. Flies were a nuisance on Agnes as we stayed on the North end. My report was for these areas. Thanks

You wont have bitey bugs unless it's warm and you're near a swampy area.

However, if its warm and sunny, yellow jackets may be a factor. Our late September trip in 2017 had more than I've ever seen.

Hahaha...

You will not have biting bugs in October. But you will need to be prepared for any type of weather. It could be warm days and cool nights to cold days and freezing nights. Last year early October was wintery up there, but that is pretty uncommon. It was beautiful though and there were very few people. Maybe I will see you this October. Have a great trip with your daughter!
