x2jmorris	08/20/2019 11:31AM I have to echo Michwall2 here. Sawbill area if you are willing to throw Ely out is an awesome area. My personal favorite area of the entire BWCA (not Sawbill Lake). The lake, however, does have what you are looking for, though. If you have a car to transport the canoe, then you have many, many options.

Kawishiwi Lake Entry and travel to Kawasachong and back out the same way. Hog Creek entry and paddle to Parent Lake and back out the same way

jdevries	08/19/2019 03:30PM I do this every year, I car/tent camp at Fall Lake Campground and then daytrip from there. Some options: Directly from Fall Lake - Fall -Newton-Pipestone Bay and back. Go as far up Pipestone as you wish and return. Two easy, 80 rod portages each way. There will be boat traffic on this route. Lake One - go west on the Kawishiwi River to the 4th portage and back. Neat little falls you turn around at. Two easy 10-20 rod portages, then a bit more difficult 60 rodder or so. Lake One - go east on the Kawishiwi River and once out onto the main lake, paddle back to the Kawishiwi River/Lake One dam, and then 3 portages to get back to the entry. Quite a bit more difficult due to portages - Mudro entry-Sandpit-Tin Can Mike-Horse-Fourtown-Mudro. A bit of a drive to get there - Little Indian Sioux entry-Lower Pauness-Upper Pauness and then walk the portage up to Devils Cascade waterfalls JD Not BWCA but looks like it - Fenske-Little Sletten-Sletten-Tee and back
x2jmorris	08/19/2019 12:38PM I think you are going to have a hard time finding small and quiet coupled with showers. Farm lake looks like it might have a decent lodge but I cannot confirm that. But if they do that seems like more your style at least as far as lake size with some options goes.
