09/11/2019 07:43PM VNO has clean, affordable bunkhouses with friendly service. I recommend staying with them. |

09/10/2019 11:55AMbillconner: "Im very fond of Canoe Country Outfitters "motel" behind their store. Short walk to stores and restaurants. $40-45 for two iirc. Great people." We just stayed at Canoe Country for the first time a week ago. Our usual Ely bunkhouse was full. It was great. $60 for two people. Right in town if you want to walk around for dinner or shopping. Quiet and clean. Private space with your own bathroom. |

09/09/2019 06:53PM Fall Lake Campground is a great campground... especially if it is your entry point! |

09/09/2019 01:29PM Bunkhouse sounds like a great idea. I'll plan for that with the campgrounds as a fallback and then consider sleeping at the entry point a last resort. THanks! |

09/09/2019 12:54PM If you are interested in a room in late September, I would book it as soon as possible. Lodging can be hard to get if the weather is nice, and the foliage is near peak color. |

09/09/2019 09:35AM Stay at an outfitter's bunkhouse. Usually $20 a night or so per person, so if it's just you or two, then it's pretty cheap compared to a room somewhere. Voyageur North or others are recommended in Ely. |

09/09/2019 09:19AM I'd sleep at the entry if I were you. Make a bed in the truck/car and call it good. Tour the town a bit. |

09/09/2019 08:49AM We have slept at an entry point on more than one occasion. An alternative is to sleep at one of the campgrounds nearby as those are inexpensive. |

09/09/2019 08:32AM Doing my first trip in a couple of weeks. My plan was to get to Ely the day before as its a 4 hour drive. Where can I stay overnight without paying $100 for a hotel room? Is it possible to camp or sleep in my car at the entry point? |
