01/21/2020 09:09PM I went to Little Bass out of the Hegman entry for mine. I liked it...Easy to get to, not in too far, but still a lot of solitude (granted, you don't usually have to go 100 yards past the parking lot for that, but still...). |

01/18/2020 01:57PM We've done a trip to Parent off Snowbank. You could also push up ahead to Disappointment as well. Here's our trip report. Sounds like we didn't have that much fun, but in hindsight, it really was super fun. |

01/13/2020 01:42PM I took my first winter camping trip last February and stayed on Fall Lake. The dogs and I stayed in a portable fish house just off the dog sled trail right on Fall Lake. Four mile portage presents nice opportunities for day trips. |

12/30/2019 11:27AM Wood sounds like a good idea to me. Close to Ely, one pretty straightforward, not too difficult portage. |

12/28/2019 05:47PM Some helpful information here. Also, you will probably get better traction (pun intended) by posting your question in the Winter camping forum. |

12/27/2019 10:32PM My 15 yr old daughter and I are looking to go winter camping. Need your recommendations on what lake we should go to. I was thinking Wood Lake, Farm lake, Lake One or Moose Lake. We would like to either be in a lake near Ely or on the Echo Trail. We have experience in the BWCA in the summer but never the winter. We are looking to do 3 days. Thanks for your help. |
