02/25/2020 09:38AM A little farther north you can make it up near Pine Lake. I believe that is plowed all the way because of the house up there. Others might know more. |

02/24/2020 08:20PM Not much is plowed, and if the FS back roads are plowed, it's probably because they are logging in that area and you dont want to drive or worse yet park with the logging trucks around. Even some bigger stuff up off the Gunflint doesn't get plowed well.....or at all. Go to the Tuscarora Lodge web site and check out their blog and their video on "winter parking" |

02/24/2020 07:59PM I figured access to most anywhere up there would be difficult. Thanks for the replies. |

02/24/2020 04:46PM Fall Lake campgrounds main lot was plowed when I was there last month, but none of the roads around the camping areas were plowed. You could camp in the main lot I suppose. |

02/24/2020 04:04PM I believe my wife and I stayed at Fenske Lake campground which was amazing last year. But Mike has a good point, not all state parks/campgrounds will be plowed (will any be plowed out?) |

02/24/2020 12:08PM Hi all. I'd like to head up and explore the Ely/Isabella area sometime in the next couple weeks. I'm wondering if anyone knows a campground or free spot where I can sleep in my SUV overnight. Maybe Bear Head Lake SP? Thanks |
