Baker Lake entry up to South Temperance Lake, can be done in 1 or 2 days. Hang out, do daytrips and come back the same way(looks different on the way back) or do the loop over to Cherokee and out to Sawbill. Beautiful lakes, long stretches of river like paddling, good fishing, better than average chance of seeing moose, moderate portages(with a couple exceptions) and good daytrip opportunities.

Baker entry

John Lake to East Pike, West Pike, Clearwater, Caribou, Little Caribou, Pine, Macfarland and back to the entry. Pretty lakes, long and narrow where wind can be an issue. Good fishing, infrequent but some challenging portages, Johnson Falls on the west end of Pine is a must see.

Kawishiwi Lake up to Malberg, over to River Lake and/or Amber Lake for great campsites and good fishing. Malberg itself is a great lake with plenty of places to explore and gtood campsites. Head back the same way you came in. Several sand beach sites to be had if you are into that. 6-7 hours to Malberg but worth it. Polly is also a gorgeous lake, maybe for a last night campsite closer to the entry.

Spend your first night at Fall Lake Campground. Then travel up the Fernberg Trail and enter at Wood Lake. There are some popular routes in that area that might fit for you as a first time tripper! Have fun researching, planning and traveling.

There are lots of route choices with EPs 50 (Cross Bay Lake) and 47 (Lizz Lake). Check out the entry point maps sections and plan from there.

Thank you. Open to any and all recommendations.

Those 2 areas are pretty popular and Fall Lake will have motor boat activity. If your looking for solitude and don't mind portages, I would look elsewhere. You're going to get a lot of great recommendations.

Hello,

Looking for a few recommendations for a 4 to 5 day trip for early August. Three fit people that are looking for some challenge, a tiny bit of fishing, some adventure and some solitude with great campsite. Okay with portages.

Thinking of the Fall Lake or Lake One entry points but open to other suggestions.

First time BWCA trip.

Thanks!
