04/09/2020 09:16AM Spoke with WCPP office staff yesterday and was told Ontario Parks' closure may be extended beyond 4/30. No decision yet, but could be made in the next week or so. |

04/06/2020 05:13AM I suspect the economy will result in many fewer entering Q and Bdub this year just as it did in 2008. |

04/05/2020 07:19PMGraniteCliffs: "The upside to all of this is if and when the park opens, those of us who can go should be greeted by... well, almost no one. The camps will be lucky to operate and many parents will be reluctant to send their kids. Folks won't start the RABC process in time. Just in general it should be nice and quiet. Very possible. I'm not sure we'll be there by early June, but I am hopeful to get a trip in this year, as I received my RABC two days before the border closure. If/when the border reopens, who knows, maybe it'll be a record year for entries via Beaverhouse, Lerome, Nym, Stanton, and Pickerel, as RABC-less people will need to drive across the border in order to access the Q. |

I still hope to take my first Q trip in early June and expect a quiet and tranquil time. Just what all of us need. |

03/30/2020 09:51AMcarmike: "I got my RABC shortly before the border ban, so I might be out $23USD. Oh well. Or maybe I'll be able to get up later in the summer or in the fall. God willing. " Don't forget that the RABC permit is good for a year. Depends on your "start" date for the permit, but you might be able to get in a trip next year before it expires. |

03/30/2020 07:32AM My guess is that this year will be a bust. The Canadian government seems to be more proactive. Lots of time to plan for next year! |

03/25/2020 11:29AM I have not submitted my annual RABC request yet. I expect/hope to do a trip to the Q in June. This "hold" on applications could make planning a June trip a tad more problematic if the border and Park are open. I have my old RABC in my canoeing stuff back in Minnesota but I am in Arizona. I am hoping that when I get home I will find the old RABC and hope that the expiration date is later in June, but am not thinking it will be. |

03/25/2020 10:53AM We have a Quetico reservation for June 18. My buddy just e-mailed me this: "Canada called me today (3/24/2020) informing me that they are not accepting RABC requests at this time. They will hold on to my application until the injunction is over and not charge me $30 Canadian or not at all if it goes past June 1 which was my must have date. They requested that I inform them should we cancel our trip. Sooooo...there you have it." |

03/20/2020 01:41PM Had a conversation with Canada Border Services Agency yesterday, and the individual I spoke with told me specifically that the RABC cannot be used to enter Canada until the borders are reopened. In addition, as already mentioned Ontario Provincial Parks are closed. |

03/20/2020 11:02AMBanksiana: "Wishful thinking. Besides Ontario Provincial Parks are closed until 4/30- you cross those guys and they won't forgive you." I agree. Canada is enforcing the ban on “non-essential” travel right now. People need to let common sense prevail and stop moving all over the place. Stay close to home for a month or two. |

03/19/2020 03:13PM Any idea whether having an RABC changes the implications of the Canadian border being closed? There are so few of us and the RABC only applies in wilderness areas, but it's probably wishful thinking to assume we have a paper exemption, right? |
