Like others have said, ask the people at Clearwater lodge. Kind of hard to spot the start of the trail from the lake. Be sure to bring a rope to tie the boat off. There’s no place to land and pull a boat or canoe up on shore.

Just before you get to the talus by the shore. Might have to look a bit, not too obvious from a distance.

Ask the folks at Clearwater outfitters, they will help you find the palisades path. It’s not too tough. The mountain lake portage I mention above is going to be clearly marked in your map.

Neither a waterfall nor a cliff, but also an incredible view— beach your boat and hike the portage to Mountain Lake. Halfway up the portage you’ll intersect the Border Route Trail. I think you take the BRT East maybe 1/4 mile and you’ll find the mountain lake overlook.

This trip report may be of interest to you.

Enjoy, this is my favorite part of the bwca!

The climb to the top of the Clearwater Palisade is fun, and the view from there is lovely.

The palisades on Clearwater are visible from the lodge/outfitters shoreline. You can get there via paddle or motor. No real falls that I'm aware of.

If by some chance this mess clears up, what waterfalls or cliffs can you get to with a motorboat on Clearwater? Any help or maps are appreciated.
