05/31/2020 07:13PM Call shamrock marina and ask for his guy - I forget his name, but they hauled 2 canoes for us for $150 round trip- worth every penny if you ask me. Many people get turned around and lost on vermillion. It was an older guy and his son |

05/31/2020 01:42PM Not sure when the marina you mentioned supposedly closed but we saw loads of canoes getting tows when we were on Vermillion a year and a half ago. Hard to believe there isn't someone offering them since it is such a popular area. However, we paddled Vermillion on our way to Trout and Pine, and it really is not a bad paddle at all. Lots of islands and bays to provide shelter. |

05/30/2020 06:42PM It is only about a 3 mile paddle. If the wind is from the wrong direction it could suck. I know of no one that has tow boats with canoe racks, but I am sure you could find someone to pull you across. Try calling Lonnie Johnson he runs the motor portage and also guides on Vermilion. 1-218-780-3610 |

05/30/2020 03:38PM Always wanted to do this trip to Pine, Chad, Buck but I've never pulled the trigger. Does anyone offer a tow across Vermillion? Last I read the marina doesn't offer this service any longer. No tow would be a deal-breaker for my wife. Thanks. |
