Jon- Most of us will never be able to experience the Quetico like you did, even if we visit as often as we can. You were blessed with a wonderful career and life. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Wonderful photo of a moose calf. Reminded me that when Marie and I were rangers at Cache Bay back in the 1980s, we had people leaving the park who told us they had seen donkeys in the Wawiag River. We were flabbergasted and didn't really know what to say. Only after they left, we realized that if they were from the American southwest and had never seen a moose, then a moose calf could definately be confused with a donkey.

Very nice presentation from someone with great experience. My first trip was in 1967, but certainly 10 days a year does not match with a full career there. Amazing how many of the places pictured look familiar.
I do agree about the Waiwag River/ Mack Creek area being so unique, especially with the moose present in this area that is so remote.
It may be foolish to add pictures to your excellent collection, but I will attach my pictures of the mouth of the Waiwag and a young moose on the Waiwag shore.

Just spent a wonderful hour watching the video. It was more than informative and interesting. It made me realize how little I know about Quetico after decades of traveling there. But it confirmed how much I feel about the most beautiful place in the world.
Thanks for posting this.

After digitizing slides for the archives at French Lake, I realized that there may be others who might be interested in images from Quetico Park that go back to the mid 1970's and up to about three years ago. I have put together an hour long slide show/video of photos, stories that relate to the photos and background to how Marie and I - two people from Minnesota - ended up as Quetico Park rangers. Marie and I only had one camera and some photos - especially those of kids or flowers - may have been taken by Marie. Had many adventures taking these photo hope you enjoy watching this.
