cyclones30: "Get a tow on Saganaga as far west as they'll go. Paddle on day one to Ottertrack or north arm of Knife. (either is a pretty easy paddle with easy portages as long as you don't have a strong west wind)

Spend a night on the above lakes, then head to south arm of knife for your double night stay or Amoeber or Cherry. Then head back out either the same way via Ottertrack or via Hanson. Stay there or stay on one of the many sites on big Sag. Paddle all the way back or have a ride lined up going out too. "

Kawishiwi Lake up to Polly for first night. Beautiful lake with many nice campsites, popular for a reason. Head up to Malberg for nights 2 and 3, lots of daytrip options, good fishing and campsites. Head back to Polly, Koma or even Kawishiwi for your last night for an easy last day .

Looking for more trip ideas. Last year we made our first trip up there for the first time for 4 days (supposed to be be 5 days but things happened) and went through Baker. See Prior Message

Looking for ideas from the Twin Cities for somewhere new. Nothing wrong with Baker, just want to try something new. Looking for fishing, scenery, hopefully avoid the mile long portages this time :), good camping sites, etc. I still like the idea of a campsite for 1 night, campsite for 2 nights, then work our way back and campsite for 1 night-- either a loop or in and out.
