09/09/2020 09:30AM Great trip report! I have read most of your reports from this site as well as another canoe site and I rank this as one of the best. I also very much liked where you sew in appropriate bible verses and quotes from Mark Twain and Thoreau. Sounds like a great group of guys that you tripped with. I think it can make a more memorable trip when you have a mix of experience levels (camping / fishing) with your trip mates. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Luke |

09/08/2020 01:47PM Wow, what a report! One of your best ever! Not BWCA, but in 2018 I had the privilege of experiencing a trip almost exactly like this to Lake of the Woods: A priest, a Deacon and several men--some with their sons along. We fished for a week, shared amazing fellowship and had a wilderness Mass celebrated. Also learned some history as our base-camp was near an old fort from the 1700's. Your report gave me the feels as I then recalled my LOTW trip. Did a video of that trip that you might enjoy: LOTW Men's fishing retreat video Congratulations on having had this wonderful experience! |

09/07/2020 07:34AM Great trip report. The most miraculous part to me is how an at least a 10 year old Black Pearl is in such fine shape. I wet foot, but you must walk on water! |
