I don't think the Bottle River is navigable. That's why there is the Bottle Portage. It's on Canadian soil, but the Webster Ashburton Treaty of 1842 reserved to the citizens of both nations the right to use the customary waterways and portages along the border, regardless of their location. There has been much discussion on this board about how much use is allowed: can you stop for lunch? How about a pee? Have you left the BW and need a new permit? Endless grist for dispute, but I am not aware of enforcement action by border authorities on such niceties.

Bottle Portage has a lot of ankle deep mud, but it's not difficult. The Bottle Lake put-in is deceptive though; the lake is about 3 inches deep at the end of the trail; you need to stumble over about 10 rods of rocks on the shore to get to deeper water.

Enjoy this beautiful area of the BW - Q

I sort of suspected that, thanks for the clarification.

The border is through Bottle Lake and Bottle River. I think its just a graphic glitch.

I was planning my June 2021 solo and scouting the maps on the site and see the southwest shore along the Bottle River from LLC to Bottle Lake is shown whited out as in Canadian. Is this correct? If so are we still allowed to paddle the river from LLC to Bottle Lake? I think yes, but looking for folks with experience on that section.
