ppine	10/09/2021 10:59AM I have used a canvas wall tent with good results for 40 years. I went hunting with a friend and we used his Alaknak. I found it to be clammy and hard to ventilate. It was dark compared to a white canvas tent. Not that easy to set up. Fewer problems with midlew, not as heavy. I will stay with canvas. I have lived in my canvas tent with a stove for a month at a time running tree planting crews. Every time it snowed we were very popular. A good tent and stove changes everything.
Dersu	02/06/2021 05:47PM Have used 15 years, or is it more?. Mesh floor front and peak vents and window vent provide good adjustable air flow. Well made durable safe tent, warm snug and dry. Tough fly sheds snow buildup, stays separate from inner tent. I always used plywood under stove & shoved firewood against wall behind stove when windy. Also cut out the bug net for wood stove safety. Strong center pole for hanging lantern, drying gear etc, and holds a clove hitch. Could live solo all winter in this tent. Two people? maybe. Main problem is setup, I've found its tough and tedious to set up when you get older.
Mike200a	02/03/2021 09:41AM I have had one for 8yrs. I have used it mostly out west elk hunting or deer hunting in MT or WY. Have been really impressed with some of the snow storms it has gone thru. I use a wood stove, and as long as you keep a window open to keep the air moving I have not had any major issues with condensation. After fire goes out and in the early mornings I do get a little, but keep a rag to wipe it down if needed. It is rare that I have ever had to do that.
Art Vandeley	01/26/2021 08:44AM You should at least give it a try. Your tent might work fine for winter camping. Plan on spending some time getting the ventilation figured out.

Art Vandeley	01/25/2021 01:57PM You will probably have some condensation issues with an Alaknak tent if you plan on cooking and having a heat source in it.
