sedges	02/01/2021 12:59PM Three headwaters loop I took 10 days for this loop, but I am old and feeble. It is a very scenic route with a mixture of old forest and regenerating burn areas. Nice campsites and pretty good wildlife. Six days would be easy. There are a couple of steep portages, but I did fine on them at 66yo. It is a very shorter hike between the entry and exit. Even short if you pay to park at Tuscarora.

And you can come back out at any one of them and your car is accessible. If you like a challenge, I recommend a loop through the Frost River. Little Saganaga is a lake worth staying on as well. " The Frost River is really fun if you don’t mind lots of short paddles and short portages. I feel like we had to do like 12-15 in one day. I know people who have had to bail on the Frost river due to lack of water as well so I’d definitely check on water levels if you want to do it that time of year. Little Sag is a really beautiful lake though so very worth it if you can get there.
thegildedgopher	02/01/2021 08:23AM Another fun option from Gunflint is going east. Little Gunny, Little North, North, and enter the BWCA proper on South. From there lots of pickup options depending on desired distance. You can go Topper > Mayhew and cut it short, or you can go Rat > Rose > Duncan and open up quite a few lakes
cyclones30	01/31/2021 09:34PM Unless you want to stop for a day or two and fish, it's more of a 3-4 days instead of 5 or 6....but hey it's vacation and you could start right at the lodge w/ a Magnetic lake permit and go down the Granite River. Stop @ Clove for a night or two. Stop at Maraboeuf for a night or two, and then head out onto Saganaga for your last day or two and back to the end of the trail to get picked up or to your car if you already had someone help you shuttle it there. (which shouldn't be a problem w/ all the people there for a wedding) This would definitely NOT be your moving camp every day type of trip. It would have good fishing and small rapids/falls.

Charliev	01/31/2021 04:01PM Hello all, my fiancé and I will be getting married at gunflint lodge July 3rd. Following that we’ll be heading into the bwca for a 6 day trip. I’ve been on around 15 trips but mostly in the ely area. What are some good looping route options for that area/timeframe. We’re in good shape and don’t mind moving camp everyday.
