There's quite a few sites right there across the no-motor line and up towards the border. You are right on where it is....that narrows. There's a sign on shore too if I recall.

The maps site here has them rated, or at least some of them. I've looked at the "whale island" sites and stayed at the site on the point closer to UBF...it's maybe a 2 or 3 star but ok for a night. Send me and email for fishing if you want.

I am planning an August fishing trip to Basswood. If I have my information right, we'll be in Jackfish Bay. We will enter via Mudro, then Sandpit, and then into Basswood. This gets us into the motorized area, and we'll paddle in the motorized area until we arrive at the narrow opening which appears to be the boundary between the motorized/non motorized areas.

I have two questions. First, can anyone give me any insight about the numerous campsites immediately within the non-motorized area? Is it hard to find an open site?

Secondly, what kind of fishing success might we find in that general area? Tips?

Thanks in advance!
