Good to know, thanks for the comments.

The plan is to visit WP first and see if any sites are open and if they are taken, head down to Pine. I'd like to visit both lakes during our trip and it looks like a nice little loop (pending wind of course).

Curious if Clearwater -> West Pike -> Pine in one day is doable. Thanks.

I’ve done it about 3 years ago. If traveling south, toward Pine, it’s not that bad. A decent climb out of West Pike, then you cross the BRT and it’s all downhill from there. The portage empties right into a campsite and there’s a nice open landing there.

You can absolutely get from Clearwater entry to Pine in a day. Most would go via Caribou which would be less, easier portaging and would be faster, but you could go via West Pike if you want. Clearwater->WP is longish but easy. WP->Pine is in fine condition but long and quite the climb-and-descent.

although i have not done the portage from WP to Pine, i heard it's up then down. but clearwater to pine doable in a day , one intangible will be the wind , when the wind picks up on those east-west lakes , it can get nasty.
