10/17/2021 02:56PM We love staying there, campground is scenic, peaceful, and well maintained, there are some sites right on the lake, fishing can be good, moosey area too. Great area to explore. |

10/11/2021 04:12PM Hi, We stayed there in a campsite (actually 2 adjacent ones) in 2018 and had a very nice experience. We always do extended canoe trips but had to adjust for family reasons that year. The bathhouse was exceptional according to the women, and plenty of fish to be had in Flour Lake and surrounding lakes. If we ever had to go the route again I would consider staying there, although hopefully that doesn’t happen ! |

10/08/2021 04:10PM Stayed there ten days in June 2016. Excellent smallmouth fishing, special regs, only one over 20 inches if I remember correctly. The lake has lake trout, walleye and pike, but we caught only smallmouth. A lot of them, and mostly 16 inches and up. One evening, we had strikes on nearly every cast. It was very quiet when we were there. Most evenings we had the whole lake to ourselves. Our cabin was very nice (Cabin #1) with our own dock right there. Took a 15hp jon boat and just tied it up to dock. The ramp is in the NFS campground on the lake about a three minute drive away. Rental came with a canoe, but we brought our own. Very close to Honeymoon Bluff, Hungry Jack Lake and a bunch of other stuff on the Gunflint Trail. Also day tripped to Moon lake in the BWCA right from Flour Lake. We were very surprised on how quiet it was. There was hardly anybody around, but this was 2016 during some of the high winds. Hope this helps, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. |
